As we are in the last days of this amazing 2019, its time to reflect and review the events, moments and memories that happened and how it aligned with the Goals that we had set for ourselves in the beginning of the year.
If you are like me, there are some things that we were able to accomplish, some we came close, some totally OFF and some we don’t even feel the same excitement when we created it in the first place. Kudos to the Successes and for the leanings(my favorite authors would call it, there are no failures, only learnings)
As I go through the process of looking at meaningful things that I should set goals on, started to realize setting goals and accomplishing them are a science in itself. As with many things in our lives, psychology plays a big part in human behavior. Did some research on this through books and blogs. Here are my findings and my process of setting some goals for 2020.
There are lot of different ways and methods, this method by James Clear resonates with me and that’s what I will focus on this post.

According to this Best selling author, James Clear’s(Author of Atomic Habits, One of the valuable and practical books I read in 2019), Goal setting, there is another important aspect, the systems and sacrifices needed to get to the goal which is not as sexy or as enticing and often overlooked when we think about goals and the outcomes.
This is the only method that focuses more on the journey and the sacrifices needed to achieve the end Goal, which brings us to the first key insight. Goal setting is not only about choosing the rewards you want to enjoy, but also the costs you are willing to pay.
