Traditionally when we think about Goal setting, there is a thing about Visualization/Positive thinking, which is not a bad thing but in many situations research shows that, subconsciously it makes us believe that we are already there, and makes us complacent, lazy, Ignore the challenges and makes us relaxed, thus preventing us in putting in the necessary thought/action/plan in achieving it.
So, Gabriele Oettingen a Professor of Psychology at New York University and the University of Hamburg.
